There are so many detox plans in the market. What is special about this one?
Firstly, because it works on two fronts:
- Removes Toxins: Eliminates life-robbing toxins that suppress the body's restorative abilities.
- Increases Nutrients: Floods the body with nutrients that energise the body's natural regenerative abilities.
Secondly, not only you will gain invaluable health benefits by healing your body inside and rejuvenating it from the outside, you will also gain a dramatic increase in energy and lose weight.
Thirdly, the plan aims at changing your long-term relationship to food and your body.

Is the detox plan worth buying?
For less than the cost of just a few grocery items, your approach to what you eat and drink will undergo a lasting change for the better. You will look and feel better and lighter than ever. The weight loss results alone are worth the price. The health benefits you will enjoy are priceless.
Will it work for me?
It has worked for everyone who has tried it and there is no reason that it should not work for you. In addition to the various health benefits of the plan, you will lose weight and curb your appetite.

Will I become protein deficient?
Your body has sufficient protein reserves for a 30-day water fast or longer. Cleansing is a natural process. A person doing a cleanse for 40 days will not suffer a deficiency of protein, vitamins, minerals or essential fatty acids. In the breakdown of unhealthy cells, all essential substances, which are mostly protein, are reused and conserved. Protein needs are also greatly diminished during a fast.

How much weight will I lose?
Weight loss can initially be as high as three to four pounds per day (1 pound=0.4535kg), much of it water. As your cleanse continues, the average loss is one pound per day. However, it depends on your body, metabolic system and other factors: the slower your metabolism, the slower the weight loss.

Will I gain all my weight back after the detox?
It will depend on you. If you reintroduce a clean, lean, youthful body back to an unhealthy diet and sedentary lifestyle, then yes, you will gain all the weight back. The good news is you have lost more than just inches of fat. Cleansing changes things inside your body – where any real change must begin. You have exercised authority over food, regained self-confidence and accomplished something you may never have thought possible. Our detox plans are the perfect spring board to starting a long-term, healthy and balanced diet and exercise regime.

Will I become too thin?
If you are thin or at average weight and you cleanse your body for 7-14 days, you may be surprised at the change in your body. And not just your body: your face will become much slimmer and friends and family will notice. Having said that, you must remember that the body will quickly normalize its weight in about 10 days after your cleanse.

Will I be hungry and dreaming about food the whole time?
Most people are surprised at how little they feel hungry. You will consume far more vitamins, minerals and nutrients whilst drinking the juices than your body would receive when eating normally. Some people do feel hungry and crave food, but this is often an emotional response. This is why it is important to be prepared mentally for your cleanse and perhaps try and do it together with a friend or family member.

Will cleansing shrink my stomach?
From years of over-filling the stomach, it is no surprise that the muscles supporting your tummy have lost their natural elasticity. People with large protruding stomachs need more food to feel full, out-eating their need. Fasting helps recover the stomach's natural elasticity, restoring a flatness to your belly. You will be satisfied on less food, and your tummy will stay in proportionate size to the body’s caloric requirement.

How will the cleansing affect my body?
While Purifyne detox plans should ultimately leave you feeling energised and looking better than ever, it’s important to realise that at the beginning of the cleansing plan, it is perfectly normal to have a feeling of headache, tiredness, mood swings, irritability and, generally, feeling unwell.
Body
You should allow 2-3 days for this feeling of ‘being poorly’. Your body is simply telling you that it’s being deprived of certain substances such as caffeine, sugar or a high-fat diet. Depending on the length and scope of your detox, many people find they feel better within a few days. Therefore, you should time your detox as conveniently as possible so that these 2-3 days go as smoothly as possible.
Good News
The good news is that once you have started your detox, you are well on the way to a fitter and healthier you. You will notice soon enough that the feeling of ‘being unwell’ quickly passes and you will begin to feel more energetic day by day.
Whatever stage of your cleanse you are in, and no matter how challenging it may feel, Purifyne will provide step-by-step guidance, support and encouragement – during your cleanse and beyond.
Bad News
For those lucky enough to experience mild headaches and fatigue, the initial stages of detox are easy enough to bear. The more toxins in your body, the more pronounced the side effects, therefore the older you are, the worse you may feel. Less pleasant complaints include stomach ache, extreme fatigue, disturbed sleep, and feeling like you have a cold or mild flu.
Ugly Truth
You may be unlucky enough to suffer from handful of symptoms that will make you feel downright awful: increased body odour, constipation or diarrhoea, gas, spots and rashes, etc. These mean that your detox is working hard to clear your system of toxic waste. As unpleasant as you may feel, it will pass before long. Keep your goal in mind and treat yourself gently during this time.
Good Sense Guide
Although it’s widely accepted that you’ll experience some of these complaints during the initial stages of a detox, it remains important to listen to your body and follow your plan correctly. Discuss any new lifestyle or diet with your doctor if it involves radical changes to your existing regime. Do not run before you can walk! Detoxification works from the inside out: it has taken all those years for toxins to build up in your body, so it will also take time for you to begin to feel and look great on the outside.

Why am I more sensitive to unhealthy food since I finished the detox?
After a fast your body is clean and has far less tolerance to the poisonous foods that you used to eat. Feeling sick when eating junk-food is a sign that your body is functioning normally. Fasting restores the body’s ability to violently react to harmful, health-damaging food.
You can desensitise your body by slowly introducing harmful foods into your diet. If you do so, before you know it all the positive results of the fast will be undone. Having a healthy body may limit your ability to tolerate what you were previously free to indulge in but it will keep your body looking great, and you feeling fresh and full of energy.

When is the best time to start cleansing?
In an ideal world, you would take time off work for the duration of your cleanse. However, none of us live in an ideal world. Therefore, it is always good to start when you are not too busy or stressed, and have some time to yourself i.e. during the weekend. Unless you can take time off for your fast, beginning on Friday or Saturday is recommended. The majority of people adapt to the ‘new rhythm of life’ and start feeling much more energetic by their third or fourth day of cleansing.
Other occasions which can be ideal opportunities for juice fasting:
• At the changing of the seasons, e.g., Spring and Autumn Before a planned pregnancy
• In conjunction with religious observances: Lent, Advent, Ramadan or in preparation for the Sabbath etc.
• At a new stage in your life – career changes, relocations, etc.

How often is cleansing recommended?
You could either do a short fast of 1 – 3 days, repeated 1 – 4 times per year or 7-day (or longer) cleanse once or twice a year. Both options offer many benefits. After finishing your fast, it is possible to introduce specific herbs and foods that promote healthy elimination of toxins in various organs. In this way, one continues to build upon the benefits initiated during the cleansing period. For further information and advice consult your coordinator.

Can I exercise while cleansing?
During any cleansing plan, feeling weak, especially for the first 2-3 days of your cleanse, is quite normal. Do take as much rest as you possibly can during this period. Again, it all depends how you feel. If you feel that you have a rush of energy and would like to go for a gentle run, you should do so. Exercise oxygenates the blood. The pumping action of the muscles flushes the lymph and cells of metabolic waste. If you feel low-energy, limit yourself to stretching exercises, light walking or deep breathing.
Whatever your preference, you should try to avoid intense physical activity during your cleanse even if you feel energetic. The energy can be fickle. Overdo it and you will feel tired and weak for the next day or two as the body tries to recover the glycogen reserves in the muscles.
muscles.

What if I take medication regularly or have health issues?
In either case, we recommend that you consult your GP before undertaking a detox.

Can elderly people embark on the plan?
There is no such thing as being too old to cleanse your body. It is exactly what the body needs to become rejuvenated and feel young again. Shorter fasts would be better to start with, followed by an assessment of your physical state before continuing with a longer cleansing plan. If juice fasting becomes too intense, bananas and avocados could be used for your juices to minimize the intensity of the cleansing plan.

What happens after the plan?
Breaking the fast is a very important process, as your stomach and digestive system need to get used to food again. Introduce food very gradually and be sure to chew it really well. Small portions of raw vegetables are best for the first 1-2 days, followed by homemade vegetable broth on the third day and cooked meals thereafter. Take at least three days to get back into a full healthy diet, which will help to rebuild cells and tissues. Whatever food you decide to eat, the most important thing to remember is not to overeat, or binge on food.
